The 8th Chakra is your Aura.
And what is an aura you may ask? An aura is the electromagnetic field that surrounds all people, animals and plants and it extends up to 9 feet in every direction, acting like a magical protective cloak of light - your radiance.

A good friend of mine, Karen Hayhurst, wrote a book called "The Aura: Alchemy of Spirit and Matter." And in conducting her research for the book she did some work with me at my clinic.
What Karen did, was measure a persons aura using what is called a Biopulsar-Reflexograph, both before and after my healing hands work. This is a biomedical measuring device based on energy and medical science where hand reflexes are read by different sensors and displayed on dynamic biofeedback graphs.
In the following two pictures below, you can see what happens in terms of the colors of the aura Before and After the healing hands work. Typically a balanced aura is bright and radiant white in color, however in these photos (simply for visual purposes), the color turquoise represents balance and harmony. So, in the first photo you can see that there is much more color indicating less balance, versus the more balanced and harmonic state of the person after the healing hands energy work.
You can tangibly see the mental, physical and spiritual well-being reflected in these aura-graphs.
Because the 8th chakra is a sum total of all 7 chakras, an unbalanced aura can manifest in countless numbers of disease states, but in general, the aura is:
When you feel great being in someone's presence, it is because they have a strong and powerful 8th chakra. The Dali Lama for instance has a very powerful and radiant electromagnetic field and when you are in his presence, the entire stadium is light up, feels calmed and protected.
Conversely, when you are in the presence of an unbalanced chakra, you feel negative, withdrawn and vulnerable.
There are many detailed yoga sets and meditations that we could discuss when looking at balancing each of the 7 chakras.
Because of the need for proper and supervised instruction, I go into great detail on healing and balancing the chakras in my Chakra Kundalini Yoga Retreat Program, but for now, let me leave you with a few poses to get you started at home:
